At Emma Glover Design our approach to jewellery is thoughtful and full of intention.  That intention is to create sacred pieces that connect with your heart. We use our hands to carve and form, and we believe that handmade objects carry their own energy so we are careful that we create with love and joy.

The designs are pulled from nature… time spent on beaches and in forests or even by the calm of a lake.  They are infused with inspiration from ancient art forms and the techniques that have been used for thousands of years that we are fortunate to use in our studio today.
Mother Earth inspires the designs, so it is only fitting that caring for her fuels each decision we make in the studio.  Our  process is both environmentally and socially conscious through sourcing conflict-free stones and using recycled gold and silver when possible. Our commitment to reduce our environmental footprint is ongoing and we embrace the ideals of “slow fashion”. Thoughtfully created and meant to last.

Our Team

Emma Glover (She/Her)

Designer, Metalsmith and Creator of Emma Glover Design

Emma’s passion for jewellery design started as a child. It combines many of her lifelong true loves: art, the act of creating ( yes, getting messy!), and the magic of gemstones and metal, and how the earth formed them.

The instinct to create wearable art led her to study Jewellery Design and Metalsmithing in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, with world-recognized instructor Billy King. There she learned a vast array of metalsmithing techniques, and began to hone her skills and style.

In 2008, Emma launched Emma Glover Design and hasn’t looked back! Emma is known for putting great care and creativity into each piece she makes and sees each act of creating as a way of spreading a little bit of love in the world.

When Emma’s not in the studio chances are you would find her with her family;  an amazing husband, two wild and wonderful kids, and the sweetest dogs. They spend as much time outside as possible by the beach or under big west coast cedars. Her children share Emma’s love of all things creative, so there is always some kind of gluey, sparkly, painty mess to be found around the house.

Carla Schubring (She/Her)

Manager of Operations and Wholesale

A life-long lover of everything art and design, Carla came to the jewellery industry naturally. She started with her own beaded collection of bohemian, beach-inspired jewellery many years ago, but wanted to pursue metalsmithing and the creation of fine jewellery.

Carla’s position with Emma Glover Design has grown and evolved naturally since she started in 2015 and she now plays an integral role in the studio’s functioning.

Carla was born and raised on the east coast of Australia, and as an avid traveller took the long way to arrive in her home of Canada, soaking in all the arts and culture she could around the world. Her honed, creative, editing eye and unparalleled organizational skills, along with the attention and care she puts into everything she does help to make Emma Glover Design what it is today.

When she’s not in the studio you might find her thrifting, eating chocolate, or staying cozy in front of the fire with her lovely partner... even in the summer, the west coast of Canada is a bit chilly for this Aussie.

Sanae Roesch (She/Her)

Bench Jeweller and Stone Setting

Sanae has been a full-time bench jeweller since 2007 and has been a part of our team since 2018. She brings her meticulous attention to detail and caring nature to each and every project she takes on. Sanae is originally from Saitama, Japan where she began her career in jewellery as a precious metal clay artist and teacher.  She has since travelled extensively and luckily, for us,  made the west coast of Canada her home with her husband and two children.

Ryan Corvus (He/Him)

Caster

Ryan is a true Canadian legend when it comes to casting. He has been in the industry for three decades, starting as an apprentice to prestigious goldsmiths, working as a bench jeweller, then before long carving out a niche for himself in casting. He is known in the industry as the caster that can mould and cast anything, so we are lucky to have him on our team. His thoughtful nature and artistic flair are the perfect mesh with Emma’s heart-centered approach to design.
